Small Description About Himachal Pradesh: It is located in the northern region in the heart of western Himalayas . The word Himachal means the land of snow . This state is bordered by Jammu and Kashmir in the north, Uttar Pradesh, in the south -east , China to the east , Haryana , Punjab in the south and west and southwest. Shimla , a beautiful hill station is the state capital of Himachal Pradesh and was the summer capital of the British Empire in India. It is hid from the plain of the Shivalik range mountains.
 Physiographic divisions from south to north are the outer Himalayas or Shivaliks , the lower Himalayas or the central area and the great Himalayas and Zanskar or the north . The state of Himachal Pradesh is divided into twelve districts , which are Bilaspur, Chamba , Hamirpur , Kangra , Kinnaur , Kullu , Lahual Spiti , Mandi , Shimla , Sirmaur , Solan and Una . There are about 2 million years ago , some people living in the foothills of Himachal Pradesh , mainly in the Kangra valley Bangana , Sirsa valley of Nalagarh and the valley of Sirmour Markanda . These people belonged to the Indus civilization and Kolorians pushed northward. They moved to the hills of Himachal Pradesh, where they could live in peace and to preserve their way of life. In the Vedas, they were called Dasas . Later, Aryans laid the basis of the history and culture of Himachal Pradesh. In the last period , the heads of hills have accepted the rule under the Mauryan empire, the Kaushans , Gupta and leaders Kanauj . During the Mughal period , the Rajas of the United Hill was mutually agreed arrangements which governed their relations. In the 19th century , Ranjit Singh dominated some states. When the British came , they defeated Gorkhas and entered into treaties with Rajas and captured the kingdoms of others. This situation remained unchanged until 1947. After Independence , 30 princely states of the area were united and Himachal Pradesh was formed April 15, 1948 . With the recognition of Punjab on 1st November 1966 , certain areas belonging to it were also included in Himachal Pradesh. On 25 January 1971 , Himachal Pradesh was made a separate state
