 Simple and small details about India Post or the Post Office in India is one of the oldest postal systems in the world. It was founded in 1774 in Calcutta by the East India Company. Now the Indian Postal Service has about 1,50,000 posts in rural and urban areas. India Post office covers 7114 people and 21.23 square KM on average. It was divided into 22 postal circles and a special circle called the base circle (for the armed forces of India) for ease of use. It performs various services such as registered mail, postal insurance, pay Value Post Airmail, Speed Post, Media Post, Logistics Post service domestic and international parcel and etc. In addition, he also runs various savings schemes such that national savings certificate, India Vikas Patra, Kisan Vikas Patra, bank savings account and plan monthly income etc.
